Maria’s academic career began at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India. There she earned a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and then a Bachelor of Science. Maria then enrolled in a post graduate programme, at Mahatma Gandhi University of India, in mechanical diagnosis and therapy of lumbar spine. She completed a second post graduate programme in mechanical diagnosis of therapy of the cervical and thoracic spine (McKenzie method).
Since then, Maria has been quite busy attending workshops and training courses. These workshops and training courses consist of: development of education of children with Down Syndrome, Vestibular Rehabilitation workshop, radiology for physical therapist, clinical decision making for stroke rehabilitation, Systematic Ergonomic, Positional Release Therapy, Pelvic Physiotherapy, K-Taping, and MyoFascial release.
Maria has also attended conferences such as: XXXII Annual Conference of Indian Association of Physiotherapists, IInd Annual Conference of Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Bahrain German Symposium on Sports Sciences, Sports Medicine & Physical activity, and II G.C.C Physical Therapy Conference. She has also presented papers, Role of Physical Therapy in Pulmonary Surgeries and Motor Relearning Programme in Hemiplegics, for these conferences.
Throughout her career as a Physiotherapist, Maria has worked in a diabetes center, sports institute, and health clubs. Since coming to Canada, Maria has worked at Stone Road Mall Physiotherapy Centre, Ajax Health Clinic, South Bruce Grey Health Centre, and Brockville General Hospital.
Maria has proven to be a strong addition to the INOVO Medical team with her passion for learning and patient care.
