Beginning the healing process
We believe that putting an end to pain means treating the entire body, not just the symptoms.
That’s why our rehabilitation clinic brings together the strengths of several complementary medical professionals to help relieve back pain, lower back pain, shoulder pain, and joint pain. By combining curative treatments from sports medicine with active rehabilitation techniques, patients achieve long lasting results. Inovo Medical’s approach to rehabilitation is individualized, active, and collaborative. We use modern chiropractic and physiotherapy techniques that focus on restoring function by using the patient’s own physical capabilities.
At our rehabilitation clinic, clients have access to:
- Chiropractic therapy;
- Massage therapy;
At Inovo Medical, we treat the person as a whole rather than a specific disorder; for example, a knee injury might also affect the foot, hip, and spine. Treatments can help relieve the symptoms of a range of conditions, including:
- aches and pains
- joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis (in association with other treatment for this condition)
- arthritic pain
- general, acute and chronic backache and back pain
- neck pain
- a headache caused by neck problems
- shoulder and elbow pain
- joint pains and lumbago
- muscle spasms
- sports injuries and tensions
We define ourselves as an evidence-based institution. Our team has specific intervention protocols for each joint pathology. These protocols are assessed and updated regularly according to the latest medical advances. These advances are the basis on which our treatments are delivered, all while being adapted to the needs of each patient. At Inovo Medical, new technologies, like Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill, and 3D motion analysis are incorporated into our rehabilitation assessments and treatment plans.

Dr. Joy has always been fascinated by how the human body can heal itself. It was her personal experience with chiropractic at a young age that led her to pursue her career as a chiropractor. As a teenager, she had neck and back pain due to playing competitive sports. With the help of chiropractic adjustments, lifestyle education, and exercise she was able to eliminate the pain. She is passionate about helping people who want to be proactive about their health. Whether they are an active athlete, nine to five office worker, or a chronic pain patient, Dr. Joy knows that every treatment should be specific to a patient’s personal needs.
Her mission as a chiropractor is to help her patients gain optimal functioning and mobility. She incorporates a variety of treatments including chiropractic manipulation, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapies and rehabilitation exercises.
Dr. Randi-Lee Joy received her Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in June 2010. She was a top student in her class graduating with Magna Cum Laude and Clinic Honors. In 2004, she graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science (Human Kinetics) degree with Summa Cum Laude.
Kurt has worked with a variety of patients both in sports medicine and chronic pain management. For both athletes and patients dealing with chronic conditions, he takes an active, hands-on approach to help patients deal with their pain. From a “hands on” perspective, Kurt likes to use a mix of Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique, Joint Mobilizations as well as Acupuncture to help with pain relief. However, he puts a strong focus on using an exercise-based protocol to help patients deal with their issues on a long term basis.
Kurt had the wonderful opportunity to work with some of Canada’s Paralympic athletes prior to the Rio Olympic games, which enabled him to learn about the type of patients who have chronic conditions but are also looking to compete at a high athletic level. He has also taken a keen interest in chronic and inflammatory shoulder problems and has taken several courses to ensure his patients are getting the most up to date treatment and advice.
Kurt graduated with a degree in human kinetics from the university of Guelph in 2007. He then worked as a kinesiologist and rehabilitation professional for a 4 years before returning to school to complete a master’s physiotherapy at the Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland.
Adnan is a licensed osteopath (D.O.M.P), massage therapist, internationally known Yoga teacher and a former professional athlete. At Inovo Medical, Adnan practices osteopathy and works in synergy with the other rehabilitation professionals.
In 2015, Adnan completed a five-year program at the Quebec College of Osteopathy and obtained his diploma in Osteopathy. Combining his deep knowledge of the human anatomy with osteopathy, he has helped many people achieve better physical health.
Adnan primarily works through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, mostly with muscles and joints, using holistic and patient-centered approaches.
BEFORE RECEIVING TREATMENT, AN ASSESSMENT IS MADE, WHICH INCLUDES A 3-D ANALYSIS* OF YOUR JOINT AND MUSCLE MECHANICS.
Overall posture analysis
A painful, defective mechanical part engenders very complex impacts on the rest of the body. Indeed, pain often results in a cascade of consequences that can lead to other physiological problems. That’s why it is important to have a reliable diagnosis in the case of sports and joint injuries. In achieving that goal, our team assesses posture, flexibility, balance, gait, running, and the feet. Our cutting-edge electronic imaging systems yield a complete 3-D examination of the body and each joint segment in motion.
Once a diagnosis has been made, our team adapts a multidisciplinary intervention protocol involving curative and active rehabilitation treatments to the patient’s specific needs.
Analysis and prescription of foot orthotics
Is foot pain making your life difficult? With our 3-D imaging system, we can rapidly identify the source of your problem. After we have conducted an overall analysis of your feet and their motion mechanics, we can offer you curative treatments as well as prescribe foot orthotics adapted to your needs.
*the 3-D analysis is presently not done for clients who visit Inovo Medical exclusively for osteopathic treatments.
PHYSIOTHERAPY, CHIROPRACTIC CARE, OSTEOPATHY, MASSAGE THERAPY, AND ACUPUNCTURE INTERVENTION PROTOCOL
Our rehabilitation center brings together the strengths of physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, massage therapy, and acupuncture. After conducting a 3-D analysis of your joint and muscle mechanics, our experts work as a team to develop the most effective combination of treatments. The intervention may include chiropractic adjustments, exercises for back pain relief, an orthotics prescription, anti-gravity treadmill use, sports and joint medicine as well as the Graston Technique®. Furthermore, our expertise in chronic pain management and regenerative medicine enables us to deliver a broad range of innovative curative and anesthetic treatments.
The Graston technique® is one of the greatest breakthroughs in the field of physical rehabilitation.
It provides for rapidly detecting and treating lesions and internal scarring on soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascias.
The Graston Technique® is based on using six stainless-steel instruments, each differently shaped and specifically designed for certain body areas. These instruments act like a muscle stethoscope: in other words, they are very sensitive to abnormal tissues. The instrument is slid along a muscle. When lesions are accounted, it produces a granular feeling. The chiropractor then uses the same Graston® instrument to release the restriction or adhesion. The patient experiences both a deep massage and friction that might occasion mild discomfort.
This technique stands out for its simplicity and the rapidity with which it can target and treat several types of acute and chronic lesions. Combining the Graston Technique® with stretching exercises specifically selected for the patient’s needs is a winning approach to complete recovery in a short amount of time!
